The 2019 Live Stage is sponsored by
Among the entertainment on the outdoor live stage will be Denver Taiko, whose rousing drum performances have in past years drawn the festival’s biggest crowds. Performances of Japanese dance, music and martial arts such as karate, judo and aikido are also featured.
Inside the walls of the Temple, attendees will find exhibits of Bonsai (the art of growing small ornamental trees or shrubs), Shodo (Japanese calligraphy), informative lectures on Buddhism and Japanese dolls on display and for sale.
Enter the Temple gates, turn right and head down the stairs to experience “Arts & Eats Underground.” This space at the festival will feature live Japanese-inspired art demonstrations and yummy Japanese snacks like somen (chilled noodles).
Handicap and stroller access to the Arts & Eats Underground is located off of 20th Street, between Larimer Street and Lawrence Street.
