Among the entertainment on the outdoor live stage will be Denver Taiko, whose rousing drum performances have in past years drawn the festival’s biggest crowds. Performances of Japanese dance, music and martial arts such as karate, judo and aikido are also featured.

2017 Programming:

Inside the walls of the Temple, attendees will find exhibits of Ikebana (flower arrangement), Bonsai (the art of growing small ornamental trees or shrubs), Shodo (Japanese calligraphy) and informative lectures on Buddhism.

Enter the Temple gates, turn right and head down the stairs to experience “Song, Art and Somen.”  This new space at the festival will feature karaoke (a sing-along experience with taped music and lyrics on a screen), live Japanese-inspired art demonstrations, artwork for sale and yummy Japanese snacks like somen (chilled noodles).
